July 18

Sometimes I babysit chitlins. Milla and Liam are two of these that I used to see on a regular basis before my grown up job came along. It was fun to hang out with them today and eat pizza and watch movies and also roam in their gigantic house full of views and books and glass deer heads.

July 13

Sometimes working Saturdays is an incredible drag. But sometimes you play Office Clue and then it's not so bad.

Stanley was innocent.

     SPU Library, Seattle

Oh hey Summer quarter, welcome. I raise my proverbial glass to quiet hours, sunny windows, and walks to Thai food.

BEHOLD! The fruit of my labor.

We thought this was a pretty cute idea (thanks Write to Learn!) and perfect for post-finals season. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I have to say being paid to cut paper and curl ribbon with McGraw twins is not half bad.

Come check it out and/or have coffee with me one of these days eh?

From Sleep Like a Tiger

Today I put together a children's book display - a book display of many many books that won awards for being culturally relavent, creative, beautifull illustrated, wittily worded, and just being wonderful stories.

It is my goal to write a children's book some day.

We have a 3D art class offered here at SPU, so every quarter or so, the library is taken over by carefully crafted little human beings, three headed dogs, Alice (the one from Wonderland who keeps falling down the stairwell), birds, and this larger than life spider who apparently escaped the set of The Hobbit.

February 5

I overslept. My bus was late. It's so foggy and drizzly out today that it feels like day-time never quite made it.

But I have an excellent cup of coffee in my hands, and will spend my day with beautiful old books and wonderful people.

It's a good day to work at a library.

February 1

This is the view from my work. I saw sun filtering in through the leaves and ran up to the third floor for a better view. I get the distinct feeling that Spring is on it's way.

Present-life highlight: Lunch with this girl everyday.

Also, see that building in the background? That's the library. It's my new job. And I love it.
