May 1
It's the first of May.
I walked up the street today, dappeled in morning light, and on the sidewalk was a bucket with long stemmed daisies in it, pink, white, and red. And there was a sign that said take one, Happy May Day. And I did.
I love this season of sun and brisk air and the smell of lilacs hanging in the air at unexpected turns.

Markus and I explored the Locks this evening - it was good to spend an evening with him, I do love his company so! We picked the very worst month to try and see fish on the fish ladder (we saw zero) but we will try again in August - apparently our odds will be better. We did pick the perfect day to take a walk and eat fish and chips however. But then again every day is a perfect day to eat fish and chips because that is always a good decision.
Happiest of May Days, peeps, do go out and enjoy the sun!

April 19
Finally finally finally the rain is gone. Spring is here full force and it's beautiful. Everything smells fresh and earthy, a little muddy, a little floral. Whenever I think cherry blossom season is done, another tree errupts with color. And now the bluebells are out.
We are off on an adventure tomorrow.

in Just-
spring when the world
is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far
and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring
when the world is
puddle-wonderful
the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and
wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope
and
it's
spring
and
the
goat-footed
balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

April 1
April again! the willow wands are yellow
Rose-red the brambles that the passing wind knows,
Comes a robin's note like the note of a 'cello,
And across the valley, the calling of the crows,-
'April again!'
April again! and the marsh birds swinging
Over the rushes that belong to yester-year;
Silver shines the river, and young lips are singing
Songs as old as Eden-as old and as dear;
'April again!'
April again! with a wet wind blowing,
And along the western sky a pathway of gold;
Sounds a call to follow the road we're not knowing,
A new road-a wild road-o'er fairy lands unrolled,-
'April again!'
April again! with its wonder of gladness,
April with its haunting joy, and swift-stinging tears,-
Month of mist and music, and the old moon-madness,
Month of magic fluting, the spirit only hears,-
'April again!'
Rose-red the brambles that the passing wind knows,
Comes a robin's note like the note of a 'cello,
And across the valley, the calling of the crows,-
'April again!'
April again! and the marsh birds swinging
Over the rushes that belong to yester-year;
Silver shines the river, and young lips are singing
Songs as old as Eden-as old and as dear;
'April again!'
April again! with a wet wind blowing,
And along the western sky a pathway of gold;

What a rush! I got back to Seattle this morning after several hours on North West public transportation (the Portland max is a life skill every person should learn - take the leap) just in time to give my boo a quick kiss and totter off to a photoshoot I had the pleasure of doing for a wonderful expecting mama. AND THEN WE HAD A BONFIRE AT THE BEACH! I love weekends.
Angela and Josh are expecting a little girl addition to their family in the next month and we had a great time wondering through some of Magnolia's best in the Spring sunshine. Her belly is the best, no?

Babysitting is a fun thing in the Spring.
1. Get them out of the house.
2. Pack snacks.
3. Find a large expanse of field and/or a tree for said small individuals.
4. Settle down with your book.
Things of note:
The girls asked if I was 160. The answer was "try again".
They caught a leprechaun last night. He is in fact a red head and turned the toilet water green.
How does one explain to a six year old what a square root is? What six year old want to know?
They also wanted to know if my boyfriend likes me and also if I kiss him...on the lips. I do. (gross)
All they wanted for lunch was five packets of seaweed and then they made me dance to Ricky Martin.
Never a dull moment.

February 7
Why am I happy about this, you wonder? Because this was taken at 7.09 am. Not that many weeks ago, scuttling out of the house at 7.09 to wait for the bus meant pitch darkness, which in turn meant that all reasonable calculations told me I should still be in bed. It also made meant waving my cell phone around, opening and closing my red umbrella repeatedly, and wearing neon pants to make sure the bus driver saw me.
Now it is light outside. This equals hope.

February 1
This is the view from my work. I saw sun filtering in through the leaves and ran up to the third floor for a better view. I get the distinct feeling that Spring is on it's way.
