February 27
Meet Phillip (pronounced Phileep). He is a snail from France who currently lives in the juvenile section of the library. I suppose it acts as a sort of trailer park for him. Traumatized by the rate at which gourmet garlic butter escargot was becoming a trend, he turned on his heel and escaped France on a barge as a young snail in the early eighties under the guise of a common stone. Today Phillip lives in a community home, teaches several times a year at local elementry schools (it takes him a while to get from appointment to appointment), and aids undergraduate education students in both lesson planning and procrastination.
Sometimes I am also a slow mover and Phillip understands me well.
