June 18

It was birthday day today! I teerned twenty five! I was spoiled spoiled spoiled by my dear ones (exhibit A pictured below) - and there was lots of notes, and frosting, and flowers, and sun, and splendid people. It was one of the best!

Sarah asked me what five things I want to accomplish this year, and after thinking long and hard, I think these are them:

1. Travel with my boo.
2. Volunteer and sign up to teach ESL in some way.
3. Read Anna Karenana by Leo Tolstoy and East of Eden by John Steinbeck.
4. Get a car (and also leather pants).
5. Run a half marathon.

...and maybe start a children's book.

Thank you everyone for the love, I appreciate you so much!

May 30

Cupcake Royal time. It has become almost tradition to take Livs out for cupcakes on her birthday - this year was no exception. Except for the fact that they were out of almost every single cupcake (carrot cupcakes, naturally, still abounded). Cake Pops and Chai were happy alternatives.

January 30

This morning, my alarm went off, I opened my eyes, and BOOM the word "cupcake" was there. Not "NO", not "WHY?", not "#*&@!" - just "cupcake".

Seven days prior, Kali and I decided that next Wednesday we would take ourselves out - we wrote it down it down in our calendars ("CUPCAKES - BECAUSE WE DESERVE THEM") and spent all of this morning picking out our top three choices. Salted Caramel and the Velvet Elvis (hello banana bread topped with chocolate peanut butter frosting and bacon bits) beat everyone else out, and I can honestly say that my entire day was made better by the prospect, the presence, and the consumption of these little guys.

I suppose it was also nice to spend time with Kali (I do like her a whole lot).
